Property in Deptford varies from the old to the new with little in between. Victorian terraces and some lovely little cottages can be found in the St Johns area, and beneath the still-extant 60s blocks there are ex-council houses which are very affordable indeed. New projects have begun to see a more sensitive and sophisticated approach to urban dwelling than the massive old blocks, as low-rise housing projects make their presence felt and offer houses and apartments for very reasonable amounts.
